Dear Community,
I must say, it sure feels good to be slowing down
rather than ramping up this time of year.
For the last 16 years I have orchestrated
Winter Concerts with my women's choir Yala Lati
for our Santa Cruz community.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE event planning and choral directing and leading our community in song, and I LOVE our Winter concerts.
They have become a beautiful yearly tradition for so many in our community.
I'm just recognizing how much my nervous system is
enjoying the slow down - one of the MANY blessings of Covid.
Not to fret my Santa Cruz friends,
our Winter concerts will continue when we are able to gather again.
I'm just in noticing and in curiosity as to how to tend to the one in me
that desires to be more in tune with the seasons as they change.
Can you relate?
As you all know, this coming Monday is the Winter Solstice.
The Sisters in Harmony Global 2020 Grand Finale isn't so grand,
but rather a Quiet Finale.
I will be the only song leader.
We will go deep.
Deep into the belly of the night,
into the Winter dreaming,
into the darkness,
into the letting go and surrender,
and back out again with a summoning of the light,
a vision for the future,
prayers for the now of this moment,
gratitude for the gifts of this year,
and a celebration of our online community of singers.
I have some gorgeous songs planned for you,
and a vocal meditation journey to take you on.
Set a quiet, sacred space for yourself.
Bring a journal, a candle, and an item for the virtual altar.
💚 Come be nourished. 💚
Because I wish to see the the great conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter,
which will happen shortly after sundown in the western sky on the Solstice,
I am changing the start time of our gathering.
We will be starting at 6:00 pm rather than 5:30.
We will sing from 6:00 - 8:00 pm pacific time
The call will be recorded
and sent out to registered participants -
just in case you need to bow out early.
I hope you'll join me!
with yours truly. 😘
If you would like to sing with me more in the new year,
check out The Art of Mindful Singing!
Love and Light and Levity,
Heather
