Once upon a time...
I was running a painful story in my head that I wasn't a song writer...
that the other two women in my a cappella trio DisMoi,
Tamar Fogel Chante and Samantha Keller,
were the songwriters, and I was more of an arranger.
One Autumn, about 2 years into our singing together,
we were invited to sing at a Winter Solstice ritual dance performance.
We attended a rehearsal, and were given the Latin words
"Lumen Solare Fiat", (let the sun shine) to write a song with.
With an ache and a longing in my heart,
I thought, "I'll let one of my girls write it."
Then one beautiful Autumn evening,
I was taking a solo sunset walk along the ocean on
West Cliff in Santa Cruz, CA, where I live.
I was struggling with my painful story,
and in an instant, like a flash of lightning,
I decided that that story wasn't true anymore.
I reclaimed my power,
opened my whole being,
and this gorgeous chant poured through.
Truly channeled from another realm,
from another lifetime,
for our Winter Solstice performance ritual.
I taught it my soul sisters in song,
we rehearsed and refined,
and then swooned
as the beautiful candle dancers swirled around us while we sang.
That day, on the cliffs,
the portal was opened to the realm of magic,
the realm of communication with muses,
divine creativity and flow...
That, my friends was almost 20 years ago.
My life was forever changed, and
I have been opening to the magical portal of creative flow ever since.
This particular recording is several years later,
once our trio transformed into a quartet called SIRENZ
with Molly Hartwell as our third singer,
and Patrick Sage Mendez as our incredible beat boxer.
Take a listen
And women, I hope you'll join us tomorrow night for our 2020 Sisters in Harmony Global Quiet Finale.
It's a Women's Winter Solstice Ritual and Sing!
We will go deep.
Deep into the belly of the night,
into the Winter dreaming,
into the darkness,
into the letting go and surrender,
and back out again with a summoning of the light,
a vision for the future,
prayers for the now of this moment,
gratitude for the gifts of this year,
and a celebration of our online community of singers.
I have some gorgeous songs planned for you,
and a vocal meditation journey to take you on.
Set a quiet, sacred space for yourself.
Bring a journal, a candle, and an item for the virtual altar.
💚 Come be nourished. 💚
Because I wish to see the the great conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter,
which will happen shortly after sundown in the western sky on the Solstice,
I am changing the start time of our gathering.
We will be starting at 6:00 pm rather than 5:30.
We will sing from 6:00 - 8:00 pm pacific time
The call will be recorded
and sent out to registered participants -
just in case you need to bow out early.
I hope you'll join me!
with yours truly. 😘
If you would like to sing with me more in the new year,

Love and Light and Levity,
