Beloved Community,
Tonight is the night we get to celebrate the birth of the "Sisters of the Moon" CD in Santa Cruz - a beautiful work of sonic art now circulating in the world and inspiring the rising tide of the feminine spirit!
We get to celebrate that as a community, we believed in this project enough to raise the funds to make it happen! We get to celebrate that many women's voices came together in exquisite harmony to record these songs - and that we have the freedom to do so! We get to celebrate that the women of Yala Lati devoted
their time and energy not only to learning these songs, but to listening deeply to each other and singing in precise tune with the fullness of their hearts. We get to celebrate the people all over the world who are now singing these songs!
We get to celebrate the expert work and unwavering dedication of my dear friend and producer Todd Boston. We get to celebrate that I said yes to devoting my time, energy and voice to creating something beautiful and inspiring to share with the world. And most of all, we get to honor and thank the Spirit of Love that moved in, through, and as me to bring these songs into
form.
And we get to celebrate through more singing! What could be better than that?
Women - please join us in concentric circles of harmony for this February full moon! All other genders - you are welcome to come and hold sacred witness. Children and babies are welcome if they are able to hold focused energetic and sonic space with us. If they become restless, I ask that you take them outside for a bit.
Tickets are $10 on Eventbrite, or are available at the door.
Please bring something for the altar.
If you do not know the songs, you are still welcome!
Sometimes it will be easy to sing and sometimes you will get to relax and and listen.
If you live outside of the Santa Cruz area, I may be headed your way this Summer for a mini tour! The plan is to head up North as I did for the "Prayers of the Water" alum release. Please let me know if you'd like me to stop in your town to lead your community in song!
All my love and gratitude,
Heather
